Breaking Y6 news...
- 11.10.21 New photos of us trying to be Charles Darwin and carry out close observations of insects in the field.
-11.10.21 Spelling Shed and Maths Shed updated with assignments for this week's homework. Click here. I have given some children paper copies of homework - let me know if your children would find this more helpful!
- 08.10.21 New photos below! We've been doing some more orienteering work - this week we were learning all about OS maps. And we've got some updates on how our growing experiments have been going - some veerrry strange looking plants have emerged!
- 04.10.21 IXL UK - we're working on Multiplying and Dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 this week so I have suggested some sections of IXL UK to work on. Simply click here and look at the part where it says your teacher has recommended this for you. If the Y6 work is a bit tricky, you could try the Place Value activities for Y5 or Y4. Please do not go ahead in years (e.g.Y7 and above) as these are not objectives from the primary curriculum.
Our first topic is called ‘That’s Life’ where we’ll be focusing on Science. We will be learning all about fossils and we’ll be exploring how we inherit characteristics and whether we’re similar to our families. We’ll also be discovering who some of the key figures were in the fields of paleontology and evolution. Finally, we’ll look at how humans change as they age and we’ll be finding out more about how our bodies work - phew! Very exciting!
