Home Learning updates

There are now further updates and some additional challenges for this week. Have a look at the home learning page above.  Make sure you keep checking back regularly as I will be putting more and more challenges on as the weeks progress.

Please note there is now a new set of spellings for the week beginning 30/3/20. This will be set 6. I have created some games and worksheets to help you to practice these words. They are all on the home learning page.

This week at school we have been learning how to use the blog on our school website. The children have been very excited about this. There are some instructions above so that you can support your child if they have forgotten.

I will be regularly updating the blog over the next few weeks and the  children  are free to comment or ask and answer questions.

Remember, we will still be using our 'Get Moving'  homework grid this half term. Your child will need to choose 2 new challenges to have a go at.

Have a little look here:

It is also still important to read daily with your child for at least  5 minutes. It really does make a massive difference to the children's progress. You can also support your child to practise and learn their number bonds or times tables targets. These have been stapled into your child's reading record book.

We will continue to use the library this half term every Wednesday afternoon.  There is a fantastic variety of fiction and non-fiction books to choose from so there is something to suit every interest! The children's library book is one to enjoy together at home. They may be able to read the book to you, have a go at reading some words or just enjoy the pictures and listen to you read it.

On a Wednesday your child is welcome to return their book and choose a new one to bring home and share with you.

Spellings for this half term are now on the spellings section of our page. The children will be bringing home a copy of all spellings. They will also write their new spellings in the front of their spelling book each week.

Things to note:

PE lessons this half term will be on a Tuesday and a Friday. The weather is still fairly cold so your child may want to bring in some blue joggers and a jumper to wear during our outdoor PE sessions.

Please remember to send in a water bottle every Monday. Each day the children are  encouraged to refill their water bottles and to drink throughout the day. Their water bottles will be sent home every Friday to be washed. Your child also needs to bring in a piece of fruit to have during the afternoon. This can really help to keep their energy levels up.
