Welcome to the year 1 class page. Here you will find lots of information about what goes on in our class. You will be able to find out what we are learning, what can you do to help at home and some photos and videos of life in Year 1. Make sure you check regularly to find out what's going on!
In year 1 there are 2 teachers.
Mrs Dobson is the teacher on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs Drinkwater is the teacher on Thursdays and Fridays.
Ms Roberts is our fabulous TA and she will be in the class all week.
Every Friday afternoon Mrs Humphries will be teaching the class Art or DT to cover for PPA.
We made it! A huge thank you to the children and the parents for all your hard work and support this year. You are all amazing and we have loved being your teachers this year!
Have a look at the photos in the summer term section, we have had a fab end to this term!
Food Glorious Food
Our topic for this term is all about food. We will be thinking about food we like, food we can grow and where all of our food comes from. We will be using the story of 'The Ravenous Beast' by Niamh Sharkey to help us think about food that we should eat to stay healthy.
PE is on a Tuesday and Thursday - you will need to come to school dressed ready for PE on those days.
Please bring in a pair of Wellies in a carrier bag for Forest school. These are to be left in school - as we change the days each group goes out to forest school.
Please make sure everything has your name in. As it gets warmer we find jumpers and cardigans. Those without names are put into lost property.
We have started our weekly spellings. The new spellings are given out on a Monday to be tested the following Monday. Please make sure the little red spelling book is in your book bag on Mondays.
There were some great projects last term. Well done! We will give out the Parish Project tasks this week. It is from the same grid as last half term, just choose from different sections. The grid can also be found on the homework page by clicking on the link below. The projects will need to be in on the last Monday of term.
