**IMPORTANT**

You'll need a memory stick (one with plenty of storage e.g. 4GB or more) and a plastic bag this week - we'll have lots of things to go home with you!

**IMPORTANT**

Extra ideas- feel free to do any of these during any week!

- Blog with Damian Harvey

Tell him about the books that you are reading and what you are enjoying (or not!). His website has lots of activities related to his books and his blog.

General website: http://damianharvey.co.uk/

Damian's blog: https://malvernparishcepatronofreading.blogspot.com/

- Read the first part of Serena Patel's book "Anisha, Accidental Detective"

Write me a blog post to tell me what you think of the story - like a book review. I have a few goodies that I won in a competition: some signed bookmarks and other things from Serena Patel, the author! Will yours be one of the winning reviews?

You can find out about Serena in her blog here:

https://www.lovereading4kids.co.uk/blog/author-talk/serena-patel-a-brilliant-new-talent-6076

You can read the first extract below too (or you can buy the book from Amazon or your local bookstore)!

- Work on an invention of your choice.

Work your way through this project booklet - take your time as you try to complete each part to the best of your ability!

- Work on your Parish Projects

Good news - we have lots of new activities for you!

There are a mixture of tasks for our 'Cracking Ideas' topic. I hope you enjoy completing lots of these tasks - see how many you can finish in this final week.

Monday 13th July

If you are coming to school today, please do not do this work as it’s what we will be doing in school!

English

Golly gosh - it's the final week of Y6 and what a weird year it's been huh?

I'm sure that you haven't finished everything from last week yet so before we get on with recording our advert, we need to make sure that we are 100% prepared. Here is last week's work which is building up to writing an advert. You need to have finished writing your advert today. Just start at whichever point you finished at last week (Lesson 2 to 5).

If you've already done that, then read the SilverFin extract and activity - all about  the young James Bond (Lesson 1)

Maths

Today, we're looking at pie charts. Watch this film (see Week 12 and Lesson 3) to get some hints on how to complete the work.

You could also play on IXL UK Y6 Maths - look at Section U15 - Pie Charts.

Small maths group

Lots of fun and games in maths this week - most of it should be familiar to you. Today, you've got a code cracker and it uses the skills you were practising last week. Good luck with your code cracking!

Other

Peter Myres has recorded a message for us. Watch this on YouTube and then complete some work from your special booklet. If you haven't got one, ask Mrs Allen.

Tuesday 14th July

If you are coming to school today, please do not do this work as it’s what we will be doing in school!

English

It's time for you to practise using your most persuasive speaking voice! Download the lesson and activity and see how you get on. You will need the audio files below too... I hope you enjoy listening! laugh

Maths

Today, we're looking at the mean - you have learned about this before. Watch this film (see Week 12 and Lesson 4) to get some hints on how to complete the work.

You could also play on IXL UK Y6 Maths - look at Section V1, V2 and V3  - all to do with different types of average (the mean, the mode and the median).

Small maths group

Lots of fun and games in maths this week - most of it should be familiar to you. Today, you've got a mystery - solve each of the clues to cross off the suspects. Good luck!

Topic - music

In 1924 jazz and blues burst into the world of the classical orchestra thanks to trailblazer George Gershwin, who composed music full of the energy and playfulness of New York City in the 1920s. Download the PDF to find out all about him and then have a go at the activity.

I've also added the remaining activities we have related to 'Cracking Ideas in Art and Music' so you can also complete those if you have time. Or you might just want to download them for later - they really are worth having a look at!

Wednesday 15th July
