Spring Term - Around The World in 80 Days
To start the new half term, our topic will be "Around the World in 80 Days” where we plan to visit the USA, Canada, Japan and China. We will be learning about the physical and human features and characteristics of each place, and exploring the local cultures and traditions. Next, we will gain a scientific understanding of the importance of nutrition, the skeleton, the digestive system and teeth. Furthermore, we'll investigate different explorers and use our scientific knowledge to understand how they survived in so many different places. We will also learn to identify different types of rocks, and sort and group them according to different features.
During English lessons, we will be reading an abridged version of Jules Verne’s ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ and exploring the characters, settings and themes through our writing and reading.
