Spring Term

Through the Keyhole

In the Spring term we will start a new topic called ‘Through the Keyhole’. During this half term we will be identifying different homes and the people who live in them. We will be focusing on The Three Little Pigs by exploring the story, writing letters to the Big Bad Wolf and designing and making brand new homes for the poor pigs. We will be helping the Little Pigs to choose suitable materials to build their dream homes.

We really enjoyed learning all about different houses and the materials they were made of last half term. We became amazing architects, super scientists and dazzling designers! This half term we will continue with our ‘Through the Keyhole’ topic. We will be taking a journey back in time and learning about the history of different houses. We will be learning all about ‘The Great Fire of London’ and the lessons that this has taught us about homes today. We will also move on to learn all about castles from the past and lots of our work will be based on stories about knights and dragons.

What a strange term it has been with us all being in lockdown! Here are some photos of the things we have been up to at school and at home.

Please note that children's photographs will only be added to the website with prior permission from parents. If you notice that your child's photo is never on here and you would like it to be then please contact Mrs Ferguson or the office to ensure that we have the most up to date information. smiley
