At the end of key stage 1 all children are required to be tested in different areas of Maths and English. These tests will inform a final teacher assessment of the child and only form part of that assessment.
The tests are due to be carried out at some point during May in the Year 2 classroom. The children are unaware that these tests are any different to the usual assessments we do at school and we do not want them to feel stressed about them in any way.
Continue to support your child with their reading at home and make sure that you ask lots of questions about the text so that the children can practise their comprehension skills. There are some example questions on the main class page on the website. The children can also continue to practise their number bonds and times tables to support their maths.
