We had a lovely couple of afternoons making our Motte and Bailey castles. We started by making the Motte using papier mache. We experimented with different paint textures using flour, salt and water and we've started to paint our models.
It's taken a couple of weeks but now we've finally constructed our Keeps and the fences around our enclosures. We used some maths skills to create 3D shapes for our Keep - measuring accurately to ensure our castles were the correct size. We cut crenellations (turrets) into card and we think they've turned out really nicely!
