Remembrance Day

Despite it being a bit grey outside, we had our two minutes silence around our school flagpole. We read part of a poem by Laurence Binyon which we had been studying in our reading session today. We also made stained glass window poppies to decorate our classroom windows. These will remind us, during the year, of the sacrifices people made for us during historic and current conflicts.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
