We discovered that different forces could be very useful to us and our superheroes today - surely everyone is grateful for gravity?!
We undertook various investigations and experiments using (or trying to overcome the effects of gravity, air resistance and water resistance. We used newton meters to find the weight (N) of classroom items here on Earth, we got a bit damp as we tried to find the optimum shapes of objects which overcome water resistance and then we used air resistance to test various paper plane designs. Some of us are the aeronautical engineers of the future - our planes travelled miles (well...a very long way)!
Finally, we learnt how the simple machines that are all around us help us to do things that superheroes could do with their bare hands - wedges to split wood, levers to remove nails, pulleys to lift heavy weights etc.
