It is still important to read with your child daily. They could read a variety of different things including, their school reading books, newspapers/magazines/comics and books that you may have at home. Remember that it is important to practice their reading fluency and using their story voice. It is also important to practice their comprehension skills and answer lots of questions about the text. They all have a question bookmark in their reading record book.
There are lots of websites the children can use to practice their phonics. We are currently working on Phase 5.
The children also have login for spelling shed to practice their spellings and we sent home the latest spellings we did with the children this week along with the Year 1 words.
