We used satellite imagery to practise looking at shape, size and orientation of geographical features. First we looked at map features together and followed this by trying to recognise and locate familiar buildings, parks and places around Worcester and Malvern. We then used these geographical skills to look st historic maps of Worcester which showed Worcester City wall. We tried plotting this on modern maps by identifying features which were present on both modern and older maps (e.g. Worcester Cathedral, River Severn and certain roads).
We have started to think about how things have changed over time and will be looking into this more in our next lesson.
