What a fantastic start to our new topic! We used some resources from OPAL
(check out the kids area of the website for lots of minibeast themed fun activities) to carry out a scientific minibeast hunt in 3 different habitats around our school. We tallied our findings as we went along and then uploaded our data to the OPAL website - Mrs Allen thinks we're future scientists!
We also learned lots about how to decide whether our minibeasts were insects or not, and then we studied some minibeasts really carefully before drawing them! If you're scared of spiders you may not want to view our artwork because our drawings are very lifelike!
Next we will be looking at minibeasts in a different habitat - our school pond. We will also be transforming our drawn minibeasts into 3D clay models.
